Protest

It is certainly true that Planet Earth is all we have to live on,  and that we humans were and are mandated to look after it. The first mention of that command is in the Bible: Genesis Chapter 2. God’s idea was to put it into the care of gardeners. And yes, we have certainly messed up that instruction and something needs to be done. The point has been made, and world leaders are listening and acting, but not proceeding fast or deeply enough to satisfy the world’s Eco warriors. These activists want it done yesterday and today and tomorrow. Next week, next month, next year, will be seen as a politically motivated delay. Some, probably most of these climate warriors are fanatics, the video below proves that. Making a point is more important than the large amount of detergents it will take to clear up the mess sprayed on and around the Treasury building in London. These protests overall have meant 83.000 police officers pulled way from their normal duties since April of this year. And more protests are planned. These people do not give not a damn about anyone who stands in their way. In fact I think they enjoy being arrested, it ups their profiles and makes the law look like an enemy of those who care about the global environment. They are also pleased with themselves and even worse sanctimonious: a word meaning making a show of being morally superior to other people.

Others have trodden this path in the past. I recall the demonstrations over the Iraq war, and before that the campaigns for nuclear disarmament. This latter cause was also at face value related to saving the planet from immediate threats of annihilation. All those that preceded this lot eventually lost momentum and fizzled out without lasting effect, and so hopefully will this Extinction Rebellion protest. The world will then revert to some form of order and compromises will take the sting out of all but the most maniacal of protesters. But not before these false prophets have finished putting their campaign before anything or anyone failing to appreciate the doom laden scenario waiting to engulf the planet. The earth has according to these people recovered pretty well from five previous mass extinctions.

Pressure constantly applied will eventually make itself felt on whatever system cannot bear it; an individual person, a body politic, such as a democracy, an idea or a religion. Unrelieved pressure will break even the will to survive. The job of pressure groups is first and foremost to make themselves felt and noticed and then apply sustained pressure. The objective, in human society is to break the will and weaken the sense of purpose of those standing in the way. Our society has been under this form of attack for decades and on a number of diverse fronts; a kind of blitzkrieg! Over the last decade the pressure being applied has been to our past. Our history has undergone a revision, and what was once seen as a cause for pride has been turned into a record of shame. Guilt is a heavy load to bear, and pressure groups know how to ladle it on. If you are an adult and not engaged to some degree in the struggle then you are a part of the problem.. These groups are still insignificant numerically, but if you have your lips glued to the great majority of loudspeakers and media outlets and ride on a tide of self proclaimed sanctity and victim-hood, then you stand a good chance of swaying the undecided and uncommitted masses. Just listen to the gurus. Set them up as totems before whom the crowds must cheer and applaud; a good example being the self proclaimed victim of uncaring past generations: Greta Thunberg has been given a platform to spout what I believe are her received views on climate change. She is clearly highly motivated and well read. Does that make her anything other than a different sound and look: she is only sixteen and seems younger. Or is she another Joan of Arc? A nineteen year old who heard voices. Here in Britain we have our own self righteous warriors thinking themselves entitled to take over parts of our capital city and to deface a government building. Here is a statement from the pressure group Extinction Rebellion followed by a video of their direct action, which they managed to cock up.

The Truth

“We are facing an unprecedented global emergency. Life on Earth is in crisis: scientists agree we have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown, and we are in the midst of a mass extinction of our own making.”

Note the word Truth in the message above. A fine word with a restricted meaning. When reduced to a slogan it becomes a device to reinforce a weak argument. The Extinction Rebellion use the word Truth as a banner heading beneath which they make a claim that cannot be substantiated, as the following makes obvious. A woman named Zion Lights, was put up as a spokeswoman for Extinction Rebellion on Andrew Neil’s BBC show. The purpose, to defend her organisation’s actions. Neil pointed out that Roger Hallam, one of the founders of Extinction Rebellion has said that “billions of people are going to die in quite short order” and “our children are going to die in the next 10 to 20 years”.

That comment is alarmist by any definition and has no scientific validation whatsoever. Zion Lights when pushed admitted that “unfortunately alarmist language works.” She is part of an organisation that continually insist that we should “listen to the scientists”.

She then argued against the scientific mainstream: an IPCC report, attacking it as presenting “very conservative numbers… using pre-industrial levels of data.””

She is not a scientist but nevertheless seeks to correct them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but what Zion Lights cannot do is claim to speak in the name of Climate Change science. In doing so she was, maybe inadvertently, finding fault with the conclusions of  6,000 scientific references, 91 authors, representing a global consensus with review editors from 40 countries. This is the opposite of listening to scientists, it is more like science ignored and circumvented, and any claims by Extinction Rebellion to be upholders of The Truth trashed.  Their demand of net zero emissions by 2025 directly contradicts the 2050 target that the experts are recommending. Ms Lights conceded that these claims have been disputed, with some scientists saying they are simply not true. she added: “We don’t have exact numbers, but there will be deaths and mass suffering.”

She added this little stunner of a comment. “Any amount is enough as far as we’re concerned.”

So the billions of deaths could be reduced to a few hundred thousand, or a few tens of thousands, even a few thousands, who knows since the numbers  may be well be below what can be directly attributed to climate change. The Andrew Neil interview nails the hypocrisy and the lies. Here is the entire thing, it is worth the eight minute watch.

For Extinction Rebellion apologists the “Truth” means next to nothing. These people are rabble rousers and alarmists who live in a world they could destroy even within their prophesied timescale. How? by wrecking the world economies. These even after every downside has been factored in, have still to their credit reduced poverty the world over. Consequently a success story for Extinction Rebellion, the almost overnight, six years until 2025 to reduce the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions to zero,  really could contribute to the deaths of millions. The wealthy economies of the world massively contribute to the overflow that is reducing world poverty, starvation and death.

“Over the last 25 years, more than a billion people have lifted themselves out of extreme poverty, and the global poverty rate is now lower than it has ever been in recorded history. This is one of the greatest human achievements of our time,” World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said.

But lets bring this down to a scale we can all understand and does not involve a discussion about science and facts. A very pleasant, gentle young woman, part of the Extinction Rebellion protest in central London was asked about the possibility of an ambulance getting to a nearby hospital through the obstacles in the way of free access to the road. Her reply was that the ambulance should be allowed through, but if not, then sadly the Climate Change issue was of greater concern. That is zealotry with a comforting smile. When this protest movement is examined and its purposes decoded we can see an underlying subtext; stating that my protest is much more significant than guaranteeing your needs, however seemingly urgent. But political activists only see the object that most concerns them. The attitude goes something like this. Since I know best, and if you knew as much as me and believed as I do then all would be well with the world. There is no other side which has any overarching validity. And who decides? The mini deities decide, the rulers of the Extinction Rebellion. Thumb up, patient gets seen, thumb down, take whatever odds are going. Political causes override narrow individual needs. That is an argument which encapsulates all left and right wing ideologies, ideas of social order which has led to the totalitarianism of the twentieth century; the worst expressions of human evil ever seen on the planet.

The Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, which involved over a thousand experts, estimated a rate of extinction of up to 8,700 species a year. A United Nations reported a daily loss of up to 150 species.” Around 10 percent a decade. However the wildness of the figures bandied about can be seen from these below. The accuracy of these estimates are not known and are based on computer modelling. Real data, documented losses are tiny: about 800 extinctions over the last four centuries. This is according to data held by the the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. This figure means a tiny quota 1 % out of a recorded planetary record of roughly 1.9 million species. Those figures were given in 2015 on the website YaleEnvironment360.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature is a global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it. So there are scientists of international repute who do, or at least did challenge the data, although their website currently is far more alarmist. Is that due to peer pressure or to computer modelling or to real data?

Figures when misused or exaggerated can cause chaos, dividing peoples and families and raising fears and even hatreds. At the moment we are in the early stages of recruiting the very young. The first moves have been to encourage schoolchildren to miss school lessons in order to protest. Weaponising children  is the antithesis of good sense and leads to disorder and social breakdown. It puts levers of power in the hands of infants when it come to experience. Politicians and industrialists are bad enough; the whims and convictions of children could be worse. Such a world was graphically illustrated in the film Lord of the Flies. Children are not innocents, just watch Greta Thunberg the person, and note her attitude, her contempt, her accusative posture and loaded rhetoric. Not a hint of doubt. just an underground current of burning rage. She gives the impression of a very bright, self confident but spoilt, indulged and undisciplined child. Her courage is admirable, but zealots can be the cause of great good and appalling evil. She is not the Saviour of the World, and her character as far as I can read it lacks a sense of humour, humility, irony and most vital of all a sense of proportion. Blinkered minds focused on a single objective are liable to become obsessive. Being a global superstar is not going to help. Nor is her Asperger condition. This should rule her out as a voice to be listened to with as much reverence as it is at present; and most certainly if the following, taken from an article on the subject is accurate. In this near crazy world a disorder such as this becomes an advantage, gives her greater status, charisma even. Makes her due to the struggle against illness some kind of heroine, a person more qualified than just a plain expert. 

Some suffering with Asperger syndrome say the world feels overwhelming. Such a feeling may cause them considerable anxiety. In particular, understanding and relating to other people, and taking part in everyday family, school, work and social life, can be harder. People with Asperger syndrome may wonder why they are ‘different’ and feel their social differences mean people don’t understand them. All these factors seem to be playing on her mind. Encouraging schoolchildren to miss class in order to protest for example. Pushing a girl like Greta to the forefront of a global mission could be close to child abuse. And she cannot be blamed, she may well be a victim of the need for a unique figure upon which to devote our sense of need for an innocent pure voice. It could be that the masses are sick, and not the child.

Such certainty! Armed with sound bites and statistics which nobody listening can challenge, she makes a big impression. One of the reasons she has a global voice is precisely because of the technologies which result from technological progress. Innovations are made with probably good intents, the planetary effects would not cross the mind of most industrialists and politicians, at least not initially. The world has advanced on the back of technology since the invention of the wheel. Stopping much of it in its tracks will effect billions of people. Money makes the world go around so it is said, and making money is not going to stop because a young Swede has become a celebrity. Nor will billionaire entrepreneurs cease advancing their projects or politicians risk endangering jobs vital to their nation’s economy.

Is there a malign principle behind some of this? Almost certainly yes: greed, yes, power hungry yes, careless of the consequences yes, but Thunberg is thriving on the results. She will live on the cloud of fame and continue lecturing those who lifted her high. Soon however she will be part of it, sucked and suckered in like most of us. These people and the world in which she lives have not wrecked her future prospects, they have made them. She might one day perhaps, as she screeches her contempt for the modern world from the highest podiums and position of power on the planet, learn the virtue of humility. What thought is given to the privileges she has been given due to the world that technology has provided? Where is the slightest appreciation or gratitude owed to the life she has been given by circumstances and the accident of birth into a wealthy continent. She will never stop the human need for new things and greater comforts. She may serve as a global conscience saying our mea culpas for us. We may, if sufficiently hypocritical, applaud her while  thinking about the updates we need to fulfil our future requirements. If new Eco friendly technologies make money then all well and good. The world has been seeking new clean technologies long before this child made her appearance. New tech takes time and money, and investment involves risk. You can lose everything on pursuing a novel idea, and yes, new tech will take over from old technologies. This has been ongoing since the industrial revolution poisoned our lands with soot and fumes and caused the early death of millions. Dying of horrible diseases in a polluted world in which workers lived very close to the poverty line. We live as we do in relative comfort on a technological bedrock of suffering and grinding work. Greta has it so good and yet slams those who have made her life that good. And has she considered the context of her mission to save the planet. Has it ever occurred to her that this world, like any physical object, is wearing out and has its sell by date? A shocking thought, but one worth considering.

Here is a real prophet who did have a hotline to God.

A quote from Isaiah: 51 v 6.

“Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth below; for the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its people will die like gnats. But My salvation will last forever, and My righteousness will never fail.”

A person says what he believes to be true and is pilloried all over the media and by every individual and group terrified of being found on the wrong side of a P.C. dogma. The picture above illustrates one thing that never happens when a voice is heard saying something politically incorrect on a public forum like Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Doves do not rise beating their wings, nor do they meet and greet in the air while bearing olive branches, or confer on each other the kiss of peace.

PEACE DOES NOT BREAK OUT WHEN THE GAY LIFESTYLE IS CHALLENGED OR WHEN THE DOCTRINE OF SIN MAKES A PUBLIC APPEARANCE.

Diversity, equality and tolerance tsars paradoxically cannot tolerate voices prepared to speak out and say: “I do not agree” with the gathering consensus. The England rugby player Billy Vunipola liked and approved of Izzy Folau’s post on Instagram seen below. It and the ensuing debate made headline news across the media. Both men are traditional Christians and believe homosexuality is a sin which requires repentance. Australian rugby star Israel Folau had listed numerous sins, one of them being Homosexuals. And it is worth noticing that it was that word which got him into worldwide trouble. Hell awaits! Repent! and Only Jesus Saves was OK for all the rest.

Was the human body designed for sex between two people, and in part for the procreation of the species? If so which combo works, how do the designs match up? Woman on woman, pleasure but no chance under any circumstances of procreation. Man on man, same consequences. Examine the woman and the man and you get a perfect fit, both for pleasure and for procreation. Amongst homosexual men the use of the human body’s refuse and disposal system for sexual enjoyment would seem to be beyond the Maker’s remit: Commandment. This part of the body has a function, but one clearly not designed for the activities enacted in a homosexual sex act. It would seem off limits for many reasons. No natural lubrication and a real possibility of puncturing the thin lining. The nature of this sex act, thrusting up a canal made for the downward passage of excrement opens up the grisly spectre of contamination between waste products and sexual fluids. Another International rugby player  Gareth Thomas is in the news concerning the sad fact of having contracted Aids. That is a tragedy, but the possibility was always there, and neither partner could have been ignorant of that possibility. Nothing about this act, which is known to have catastrophic effects in so many areas of life, both mental and physical seems to me to be natural, and taking pride in any part of it is beyond perverse. Gay Pride is a misnomer, it makes no sense other than to conceal something intrinsically wrong beneath a colourful shroud of brash deceit and showmanship. And there is hatred not hidden far below the surface for anyone who points out that it is not a lifestyle to be encouraged, let alone taught to schoolchildren, and presented as a normal choice on the sexual spectrum. If rights are Equal then then let the discussion begin, without deciding in advance that one is right and the other wrong. LGBT proclaim the goodness of their lifestyle. Christians proclaim the truths of the Gospel. The two world views clash, which is OK. So why the assumption that one is to be held as extreme and hateful and not to be borne or expressed while the other is given a free pass. Strange perhaps that the most promiscuous of  groups in the animal world are the chimps. We humans are a few streets away from them, but not it seems in sexual lust, which is common throughout nature; and that includes sexual desire between those of the same sex. This should not surprise a bible believing Christian. We humans are attracted to sin, weeds whether found in the garden or in hearts and minds need little encouragement to colonise whatever ground is set before them. In the Genesis account it is not just mankind that fell from grace when Adam and Eve sinned and rebelled. All of nature fell with them.

Here is an LGBT poster, fuelled by rage and just as hard and to the point as Folau’s. However if they can say what is written below without apparent censure then why cannot Billy Vunipola and Izzy Folau be given the same rights? An attack on Christian beliefs is an attack on all Christians.

Thanks for the warning! We Christians know exactly what is coming: injustice, insults and fear of speaking out. Consider the chances of this happening: a Christian Pride event, which wanted nothing more than to celebrate the goodness of God and give praise for the Facts of Life which bring male and female together in a loving union called marriage. Proclaiming on banners in streets closed for the day the Christian context for the birthing and nurturing of children. Making plain from the evidence of biology that sexual identity is decided in the first moments following conception. That this message is not to be confused by any other concept however attractive it may seem to a world gone mad on choice. Such an idea as a Christian Marriage parade sponsored by a city council to march would almost certainly be uniformly denied up and down this land of the free. To be among the favoured is as important now as it was in the 19th century. Those admired and favoured then are brought down and the marginalised and prosecuted at that time have become the new makers of social fashion. Lauded and loved by the easily moved masses, who like a Roman emperors thumb which was turned up for a show approved and down for one that displeased, often a the bidding of a howling mob. The Emperor here, whether council committee or government agency is at the mercy of just such a mob. The oppressors are not necessarily the chosen spokespeople for the group, maybe they are just an ideologically driven minority of the LGBTQ….community. The victims are the few Christians with the courage to stand up in public, or Tweet or comment on social media saying, I DO NOT AGREE AND THIS IS MY VIEW. Its about time our craven political legislators actually looked at the whole matter and came to realise they are being led by the nose in a direction that scarce bears thinking about. Pulling down the only voices that could right the wrongs. Return to ways we had followed for centuries, which for all its many faults, at its root had the care and love and the message which kept us safe from the ensuing madness. One that has confused sexual ethics and practise for an alternative brave new world. Achieved by broadening the meanings of the words gender, identity, equality and diversity until the elastic snapped and society chose to throw aside all restraint.

Imagine for a moment that the reverse was happening. Once a year huge colourful rainbow coloured celebratory marches in the centres of major cities filled with slogans like these: Equal Rights For Christians / Vunipola Has Rights As Well / Man was Made for Woman / Marriage is God’s Plan for Male and Female Only / Best For Children To Have a Biologically Male Father and a Biologically Female Mother / God Hates Sin / Homosexuality Is a Sin / The Rainbow Was Created By and Belongs To God.

I know what Stonewall and Pink News would fill their pages with. This is Incendiary! Provocative! Shameful! Hateful! Bigoted! Inflammatory! Homophobic!

What about Christophobia? Bibleophobia? There are no such words, but why not? Essentially there are no differences between Gay slogans and Christian. The former are open to anyone doing anything, all is love and happiness, so fighting against something is not really relevant or on their horizon. But they do not like being criticised or their lifestyle condemned. That is unreasonable, you put yourself out there and make a big noise about it then you should expect some kind of reaction, some of which will be negative. If you deny well established facts from science and biology and psychology which undermine your claims, and place reasonable question marks over much of your message, then you should expect to be challenged. Christians do not much mind being criticised. We expect it, because we care about the truth and therefore must speak out against what we believe to be wrong or opposed to God’s will and the commandments set out in the Old and New Testaments. Why? Because we believe God made us and gave us rules for living and that breaking those rules and standards opens us up to consequences. Let me make it plain. When I see a Gay Pride celebration broadcast on the news or some other outlet I find it upsetting and threatening. The difference is that Gays have redress under homophobic hate law. People like Billy Vunipola have no legal redress or even the right to comment negatively. And those like myself who support him must keep silent and bite our lip, hide our tears and bury our grief out of sight and sound of those who could and might pursue us into the law courts. Except that I feel I have to speak out because there is a kind of imperative at the root of being Christian that demands taking a stand. God in his word makes his judgement on us very plain.

From 2 Thessalonians. Chapter 2 verse 11.

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”

Little wonder then that words like sin and repentance are rarely heard nowadays. It has taken a couple of rugby players from the South Pacific Islands to briefly return the conversation about sin and judgement to the front pages. It will of course soon be forgotten. The Church today is in large part too politically correct to raise more than a limp wristed gesture than to speak a gospel message such as that taught by Paul. Love now incorporates near all things in its embrace of diversity, however repugnant these are to God. Folau and Vunipola are people who take their faith seriously, and this includes heaven and hell and sin and the necessity to repent, while still loving those of all opinions and lifestyles. Personally my understanding of this is that I am commanded to love lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender persons as individuals, but have no equal command to love the group identity of any of these. In the same way as I can in Christ love a Marxist while hating Marxism and love a sinner while hating Sin. The knowledge that I too am a sinner keeps the accuser in me in check.

Take away the concept of sin and all three monotheistic religions, those of the Jews, Christians and Muslims would fade away. With regard to the Judaeo / Christian heritage, had this sin and redemption link been lost it would have swept aside the moral, ethical and legal foundations of Western Civilisation. If we can no longer speak of these things in the modern world then go ahead and celebrate; but realise this, you will pay the cost later when you find freedoms important to you and firmly based on biblical principles, lost beyond recall. The first principle to go will be the value placed on the individual. That your life is important and sacred and unique. That is true whether we like it or not, but modern society has replaced this safeguard on your life with a lesser concept: that of the hive and the ants nest. A kind of group identity social order, embedded in left-wing politics and currently infecting conservatism. This shift in the social order has already becoming apparent. It has legal and moral force and apparent social acceptance, although the cowered silent majority might secretly think otherwise. And it is grossly intolerant, as the Billy Vunipola episode demonstrates. To contradict any part of the status quo is in old currency, a sin: an aberrant thought, a misdemeanour. This turns the tables and people like Vunipola become a type of modern sinner. A strange result in a liberal democracy, because this carries echoes of Old Testament scapegoating. Being made an outcast he is now required to do penance, both privately and publicly. Only then can he can hope to begin rebuilding his reputation.

Billy Vunipola  has upset a large contingent of the most easily upset, and is experiencing the enforcement of politically correct opinion levelled at him by rugby’s officialdom. At the forefront of this is his club Saracens, behind that comes the national bulk of the Rugby Football Union. Both of these need to be appeased, after that come the vengeful hordes of social media warriors, mounted on thousands of keyboards tuned in to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. All of this caused by posting a critical comment on a subject about which you are not allowed to publicly express disapproval; not unless the comment has been self moderated to such a degree it no longer resembles your true opinion. He had chosen to ‘Like’ an Izzy Folau post on the possible fate of homosexuals. A brave but unwise move in the current environment. In the immediate aftermath Vunipola restated his views.

“So this morning I got 3 phone calls from people telling me to ‘unlike’ the @izzyfolau post. This is my position on it. I don’t HATE anyone neither do I think I’m perfect. There just comes a point when you insult what I grew up believing in that you just say enough is enough, what he’s ( Folau ) saying isn’t that he doesn’t like or love those people. He’s saying how we live our lives needs to be closer to how God intended them to be.

“Man was made for woman to procreate, that was the goal no? I’m not perfect, I’m at least everything on that list at least at one point in my life. It hurts to know that.

“But that’s why I believe there’s a God. To guide and protect us and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

Interesting he uses the words ‘insult what I grew up believing.’ There is no protection for any insult he feels, or upset he experiences, or legal redress for trespassing on his rights or his dignity due to his belief system. And what is his crime? What did he do wrong? All he was doing was record what he believes God states about sin. And according to that belief he must protest if he feels the impulse to do so comes from his Christian conscience. He is not saying he is better than anyone or that he always gets it right, he is just saying what he believes to be true. God made us to be male and female and told us that sex was only valid within the context of marriage between male and female. The ultimate objective of this union, beyond sharing love for one another is the procreation of children. Such an event is predicated on a union between man and woman, with the former having a functioning penis and the latter a vagina, breasts for milk production, and a womb. These facts of life and procreation are in accord with every cell in every organ of their very different bodies.

Vunipola has been evangelised from birth in his faith. The process has a name, it is to be proselytised. It is a process not confined to Christians. Gay publications like Stonewall and Pink News do exactly the same, they proselytise. A word meaning among other things: to evangelise, promote, advocate, endorse, champion, advance, propagandise, boost…in other words, put into effect what lobbyists of every type from the left, right and centre do on a regular basis. From believers in God to atheists, from political parties to gay activists; they all do this incessantly: promote what they believe. The LGBT lobby are the masters and mistresses of this process, getting their agendas advanced by government organisations like Ofsted, a pliant compromised Church, and through the media, and finally by playing the victimised minority card which ensures the sympathy of nearly everyone. Which is the reason why Vunipola is being so vilified and humiliated. The correct punishment for a big bullying Christian man. What could be worse than such a person? Oh yes, he could be white, which he is not.

Vunipola is clearly a soft hearted man, essentially gentle and humble and much liked. A man brought up to believe in God and the Bible. Is he, a product of a Christian upbringing not permitted to speak out his faith as he understands it? The answer to that is clearly no, certainly not in the manner he chose. Gays however are given every incentive and every advantage in promoting their lifestyle? They have protection and are encouraged to express themselves and state exactly who they are and what they want. Look around you, pay attention and note for example how the major cities around the globe welcome massive Gay Pride celebrations and close their main streets to normal traffic. As to the Billy Vunipola incident, here is another opinion on the matter, from an England teammate, Courtney Laws. He not a Christian, just a person capable of dissociating the contents of a post from its unintended consequences. He was writing to his friend.

I could not put it better so I will say nothing more on the matter of Vunipola’s Instagram post and its reaction. We do however live in a society where favoured individuals and groups can terrorise those who express a counter opinion. There is no justice in this country that guarantees rights of free speech for all, and yet nothing is more serious. If you doubt me then just watch those who are going to either fall or be thrown under whatever laws are now being conceived in the parliamentary and judicial pipelines. The grip will be further and further tightened unless there is a reaction, one of a hopefully peaceful nature, when the debate can be opened up so that each side can freely and without censure state their positions.

What about the Gay community? Shouldn’t it be left alone to live as it wants in peace and quiet. The answer to that is almost certainly yes, sexual orientation is an individual choice. Many, possibly most may prefer to keep their lives private, as do most heterosexuals. However, there are parts of the homosexual community who want to parade their lifestyle before the world. OK, they have the right, but do not expect it to please those who find the lifestyle they promote to be detrimental to society at large. This issue is a primary lever in a state sponsored attempt to remove traditional Christian values from every sphere of social influence. It has become an infestation in schooling. Teachers are being removed for the smallest of misdemeanours. Below is a video it is hard to believe could be true. How can this be happening in our country?

A Catholic mother of five in the UK is being investigated by police for “misgendering” the son of a transgender activist who arranged for her 15-year-old son to be castrated in Thailand. The reason being this is an illegal procedure for a child of that age in the UK. Also this month I read story from the website LIFESITE news that parents in the UK who objected when their autistic teenage son was prescribed hormone therapy ran into trouble with the authorities. After their son told his school that his parents wouldn’t allow him to undergo the so-called treatment, the school reported the parents to child services for being “emotionally abusive.” The parents were then warned that if they didn’t support their child, he could be taken away from them and put into foster care. According to The Daily Mail, last year at least three children were taken away from their parents and put into foster care, because their parents objected to their gender transition. This is totalitarian in spirit. An ideology is driving a programmed intrusion into areas once believed to be a parental responsibility, therefore sacrosanct and outside state control.

Finally here is a calm reasoned view from a Christian perspective which lays out the ground upon which we Christians make our assumptions. I recommend this partly because it is so different to the way I tend to express myself. I am not unaware of my faults and sins.

The speaker advised her audience not to hate, but to educate. In this case that means facing a truth very few want to acknowledge let alone talk about. The speaker is a Muslim, born in Iran and sold by her father at the age of 14 into marriage. Listening to this articulate woman you can still feel the sense of shock and betrayal she felt as it happened.

A country no different to any in the West transformed almost overnight by an Islamic dictatorship. You could call it a warning from history.

If you have watched the video you will know what this is all about. Here is a list of core feminist beliefs: Sexism exists / Sexism against women (misogyny) is enduring, pervasive, systemic, cultural, and ingrained / Men and women should have equal rights and opportunities / Women are intellectual equals and social equals to men / Women should be recognised and treated as equals to men. This may be controversial, but I will ask the question anyway. Do feminists believe what they profess to believe? They were holding placards with the words End Violence Against Women written on them. They were being asked about violence against women by Muslim men. Almost every statement on the feminists list is to one degree or another opposed by the religion and culture of Islam. Not one of these feisty women on their crusade to put men in their place are prepared to face facts they cannot handle.  Not a word is uttered in reply to the interviewer which indicates they care about Muslim women who suffer under Sharia law. I am not trying to imply that many Muslim marriages are not successful and based on loving relationships, but to deny there is a cultural problem is not an option. The facts speak against these women who seemed determined to either blank the interviewer or express astonishment at her remarks. Do they not know about the rights given to Muslim husbands over the freedoms of their wives?

This is my conclusion.

1 Sexism against women (misogyny) is enduring, pervasive, systemic, cultural, and ingrained in Islam

2 Men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. In Islam these rights and opportunities are largely dependant on the cooperation or kindness of their husbands.

3 In Islam women are not normally regarded as  either intellectual or social equals to men.

4 Women should be recognised and treated as equals to men, but in Islam they are not.

That is every rule of feminism broken and done without apparent interest or awareness. If in today’s society Christianity was seen to be supportive of doctrines even approaching those of Islam in this area of women’s rights, then the Church would be vilified without remorse by these crusaders for Feminism. And rightly so! If the knowledge of these protesters is so deficient they do not know what happens under Sharia Law, or the culture pervading much of Islam, then they are guilty of either wilful ignorance or monumental hypocrisy. I think the latter is true. Feminists regard themselves as an oppressed minority, and they cannot it appears apply their critical faculties against another supposedly oppressed minority: such as Islam.

# Harmful practices, such as Female Genital Mutilation and “Child marriage”, are violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms. But they are all commonplace and sanctioned in many parts of the world under the rule of Shariah Law.

# Women’s rights defenders in Saudi Arabia have been arrested and accused of treason.

# Sabiha, a 32-year-old woman, was raped by a relative. Her family and local community pressured her into marrying her rapist. This to remove the dishonour put upon her family. Her rapist escaped all punishment by marrying her. She had been regularly raped for nine months. She forced him him to leave and got a divorce. Her family prevented her from continuing her work or from leaving her home. This happened in Iraq in 2018.

# A young Sudanese girl was forcefully married off at 16 years of age to an older man she was forced to marry. He raped her while three of his male relatives held her down. On one of these rape attempts she fought him and stabbed him with a knife.  The man died. The girl whose name is Noura was convicted of murder on the 10th of May, 2018 and was sentenced to hang.

These cases are not from a right wing source but from one that should be required reading by feminists. These are paraphrased accounts from reports published by Equality Now. The subtitle on the website page states: A just world for women and girls.

Just look at the crimes that have been reported in the UK concerning the sex gangs and their use of white girls as sexual currency in a criminal conspiracy that continued throughout England for close to two decades. Everything written in this section is the result of Muslim violations of human rights. But they happen in both Islamic States and in countries that have taken in great numbers of Muslim men. These crimes against humanity have two common factors, a culture that seems to accept this kind of behaviour, and men prepared to take advantage. These men are no doubt unrepresentative, but they exist in large enough numbers and are protected sufficiently to cause unimaginable suffering to females.

AND YET! The feminists on this march seem oblivious to the facts. They react as they do because they are blinkered and constrained for politically correct reasons. PC does that to both individuals and organisations. It was the reason why Pakistani sex gangs were left free from police intervention for so long, it has become a national scandal. Politically correct views on racism and Islamophobia prevented the authorities from taking action. Which makes these highly politicised bands of sisters dangerous. Pressure groups such as those represented by these protesters seem to me to wave their flags and mouth their slogans alright, but lack the capacity to see beyond their cause. They do not see nor do they want to see the other side of the argument. They are myopic and it shows in the incomprehension on their faces when confronted by a different and contrary view. I can understand why they protest, and they may have a point; however it becomes lost when the only bee in their bonnet is shown to be just one of a hive.

I have placed a video below which is relevant to the issue of feminists shutting their ears to known facts about abuses suffered by many thousands of females in the UK. Can they face an uncomfortable truth? The fact that their avowed desire to protect women from male violence has limits. That their interest in these issues depends on who these male perpetrators are? Because this matter of facing an uncomfortable truth is clearly laid out in the presentation below. It is a failure that spread itself across a wide spectrum. From feminist activists to police officers and heads of major councils and government agencies; most of which would have placed care of female children high on their list of priorities. The failure to act on their behalf relates to a culture that somehow permitted Muslim men to look at young girls and see nothing but “white trash”. Human garbage to be used at will and abused in as many ways as can be imagined when it comes to sexual violence. Those feminist protesters above cannot have been ignorant about scandals that gave rise to global publicity. The must have seen and read about it, and yet could not say a word of condemnation about the men responsible. Why? For the same reasons the authorities responsible for the girls safety could not act: their politically correct agendas would not permit them to act. If the Muslim men where reprehensible, then what can be said of those authorities which should have known so much better? If you watch this calm but deeply moving account by a very decent man you will be shocked beyond measure. There was a conspiracy of silence. The man in the video below was a key factor in breaking that silence.
